Who is Jeffrey?
On May 24, 1996, Jeffrey was born in the heart of Aalsmeer. 23 years later, he gets into his car every workday at 8:30 a.m., on his way to NDSM. Jeffrey likes to play sports and does so three times a week, one of which is tennis. He also enjoys making music. He can play the guitar and since the beginning of this year he has a piano, on which he practices daily.
How did you become a visual designer?
"I always knew I wanted to work in the creative sector later on. My father is a Graphic Designer and DTP-er, so that's where my interests started."
"After finishing HAVO, I started the HBO course Communication & Multimedia Design at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. I completed both my graduation internship and project here at Unc Inc. I knew I didn't want to do a master's and that I wanted to start working right after college. And since I liked it so much here, it was a logical step to start working full-time right away."
Where do you get your inspiration?
"For passive inspiration, I follow a few newsletters; those from Medium, InVision (Inside Design) and Web Designer Depot. When I actively look for inspiration, I use Pinterest, Dribbble, Instagram, Behance, YouTube, Awwwards, Flaticon, Color Hunt, Muzli and more."
"Furthermore, I also value input from my peers. I believe that, with the feedback from others, your work becomes much better than what you initially came up with on your own."
What are you most proud of?
"Looking at all the work I've done for Unc Inc, I'm definitely most proud of the animated explanation video for Hoodhunt. Not only because this was my first big animation job, but also because I think animating is the most fun work to do."
"It was a four-week project where I did most of it on my own from start to finish. Think about the script, the storyboard, the illustrations and animating them."
What personal trait sometimes gets in your way?
"I am very perfectionist and organized, which for me means that I always want to do everything as perfectly as possible. However, this has often caused me to run out of time. Nowadays, I can manage my time better and I also know that sometimes it is necessary to produce quickly and to 'finish' things (in my eyes)."
How would you describe Unc Inc in one sentence?
"A close-knit, creative and informal team that makes beautiful products with an eye on the future."

"I pass the baton to Roel, and I would like to ask him what his most memorable vacation was, and why."
