Beef is a Dutch reggae band with influences of ska, rock and funk. The band has been around for 10 years and has several successful albums and hit singles to their name. Unc Inc started a partnership with Beef in 2007 and now provides numerous media outlets for the band.
In early 2007, the album "Last Rudies Live!" was released, featuring live recordings of the singles released over the years. Since the album contains old hit singles by Beef, we designed the cover as being a used and dusty album has been sitting in the closet for far too long. To convey the atmosphere of the live feeling, we photographed the singer (Pieter Both) singing and used polaroids of various performances on the inside of the cover.
In May 2007, by popular demand, Beef released their quirky interpretation of the Krezip classic "I Would Stay. To stay in line with the Internet hype, we produced a music video shot using only webcams. An additional advantage of filming with webcams was that the band, spread across the country, did not have to gather for the shoot: After all, we could record the footage remotely!
We also provided beef with an entirely new website. In addition to using innovative techniques, we employed unique approaches to navigation: One does not navigate through a menu, but directly on the content. In terms of artwork, we laid out the website in a rough way with a lot of analog influences, which fits exactly with the band's house style and the style of their music.
