Sustainable energy platform with a mission
Vandebron brings together supply and demand of good energy. As a customer, you choose which source you purchase from; you know exactly where it comes from and where your money goes. This is how Vandebron works toward 100% sustainable energy. But how do you stand out in a market where every supplier claims to be 'green'?
From a new site to a new story
During the analysis phase, it appeared that some fundamental questions could not be answered properly. This had everything to do with the transition Vandebron was going through: from small start-up to mature alternative. For that reason, we decided together to reposition the brand and make the message clear, concrete and distinctive.
An important outcome was the positioning as a platform rather than an energy supplier. A platform that connects providers and customers but also for sharing smart ways to save energy, both at home and on the go. The resulting brand guide then provided a clear guideline for website design.
What is good energy?
"Good energy is closer than you think" says Vandebron. But what is that, "good" energy? Vandebron wants to break through that opacity of the market by being completely transparent about its origin.
Because if we want to accelerate the energy transition, we must produce more green energy locally. That's why we decided to make the location of suppliers part of the selection process.
Air and light
So one of the most important core values is transparency. About the source and the impact of your choice as a consumer. In the creative concept, we take the perspective of the energy source itself: the air (wind energy) and light (solar energy).
This we implicitly translated into a design with "air," with lots of white space. But also literally through the use of aerial videography with visualizations of 'gooey' energy output in current weather.
A smooth sign-up flow
A key goal, of course, is to get visitors to switch to Vandebron.
To increase conversion, we thoroughly analyzed, shortened and simplified the sign-up process. Moreover, by placing it in an "overlay," we eliminated surrounding incentives so that the visitor's attention remains fully focused on the signup.
From friend discounts to referral marketing
Hidden on the site we found the friends discount: bring in a new customer and both receive a one-time €100 discount. In the new sign-up procedure, you can now offer the discount to your friends via social media. Here, these "discounters" are now turning into Vandebron ambassadors.
So we transformed the sympathetic friend discount into a powerful referral marketing tool.
